Our Minister
A New Minister for a New
Millennium!
Rev. Eric Allison came here in
2000 with the intention of building a spiritual community that would
honor all faiths.
Eric is a very
interesting fellow. He has traveled to over fifty
countries, forty eight states and every province of Canada. In
his
younger days he was a sky diver for five years, a spelunker, a cliff
climber and a marathon runner. These days he has the unusual hobby of
making "ancient artifacts." He uses clay to fashion ancient
figures from over sixty ancient cultures. |
As
well as being our local Minister, Eric is the current chair of the
Council of Ministers of the Swedenborgian Church of North America. He
is also Adjunct Faculty at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley,
California.
He is happily married to Lisa
and is the step parent of four grown boys and the co-parent
of their beloved dog "Soleil." |
Eric earned his BS in Sociology
and Psychology from Urbana, University in 1972. His graduate
theological degree from the Swedenborg School of Religion was completed
in 1977. He was ordained into the Swedenborgian ministry in San
Francisco also in 1977 and became pastor of the Swedenborgian Church in LaPorte, Indiana. While serving the Swedenborgian Church in
Kitchener, Ontario/Canada 1980-1989, Eric also earned a Masters Degree
in Marriage and Family therapy from the California Family Study Center
in North Hollywood, California and Dr. of Communications from the
Immaculate Evangelical Theological School of Lagos, Nigeria. Eric
has also served churches in Perth and Adelaide, Australia, and Curepipe
and Port Louis, Mauritius. He also served as a denominational
consultant. |
